03 · Cookstown, specifically
Things that only
apply to Cookstown.
Every one of the points below would be wrong if you swapped another town name into it. That is the test we hold this page to.
The outlet mall at the Highway 89 and Highway 400 junction is the single biggest factor in a Cookstown drive. On a Saturday afternoon or through December, the eastbound approach on Highway 89 backs up badly. Highway 27 south to Highway 88 is the local workaround and it costs you nothing in time.
Cookstown is part of the Town of Innisfil, but it sits at the far south-west corner of it, twenty-five minutes from Alcona and fifteen from Bradford. Administratively it looks north and geographically it looks south.
The village keeps a genuine antique and specialty retail strip on Queen Street, which is unusual for a place of under two thousand people and is why it draws visitors who are not going to the outlets.
For skin treatment, Cookstown's realistic options are Barrie at about twenty-five minutes with city traffic at the end, or Bradford at fifteen with a free lot. There is nothing in the village itself.
04 · The long version
Why Cookstown clients
make the drive.
Fifteen minutes, traffic permitting
Cookstown to Bradford is a short drive on paper: Highway 89 east, Highway 400 south, off at Exit 64, east on Holland Street West. Fifteen minutes.
The variable is the outlet mall. The Highway 89 and Highway 400 junction is where all of that traffic funnels, and on a Saturday afternoon or at any point in December the eastbound approach is not fifteen minutes. Anyone who lives in the village knows this and has a workaround: Highway 27 south to Highway 88, east through Bond Head, into Bradford from the west. Same time, no junction.
Worth mentioning on a page like this because it is the sort of thing only someone who actually drives the route would tell you.
A village that looks two directions
Cookstown is administratively part of Innisfil, which puts its council and its municipal services twenty-five minutes north-east in Alcona. Geographically it sits at the bottom corner of the township with Bradford fifteen minutes away and New Tecumseth across the road.
For most services that split does not matter. For a skin clinic it does, because Innisfil has none and neither does New Tecumseth. The realistic choice is Barrie or Bradford.
The case for the shorter drive
Barrie is around twenty-five minutes and has more clinics. Bradford is fifteen and has one that runs CO2 laser resurfacing, Morpheus8, BBL, Plexr and the full injectable menu, with a Nurse Practitioner as Medical Director and free parking in its own lot.
If you want something that only exists in Barrie, go to Barrie. If it exists in both places, the ten minutes and the parking are not nothing, particularly for a treatment course that means six visits rather than one.

Questions we get
from Cookstown.
What is the quickest way from Cookstown?
Normally Highway 89 east to Highway 400, south to Exit 64, then east on Holland Street West. Fifteen minutes. If the outlet traffic is bad, take Highway 27 south to Highway 88 and come in through Bond Head instead.
Barrie or Bradford?
Bradford is ten minutes closer and the drive ends in a parking lot rather than in Barrie traffic. Barrie has more clinics. If what you want is available at both, the shorter trip wins.
Can I combine an appointment with a trip to the outlets?
People do. If that is the plan, book earlier in the day, because the eastbound Highway 89 approach fills up through the afternoon.
Do you have late appointments?
Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays we are open to 7pm. Wednesdays to 5pm, Fridays and Saturdays to 4pm, closed Sundays.
Who does the treatments?
Injections are performed by our Nurse Practitioner or by one of three licensed RPN injectors. Alex Dinovich, FNP-PHC, is the Medical Director and signs off treatment plans.
