Tottenham is in New Tecumseth but it faces east. Highway 27 is the road that matters here, and it puts Bradford closer than Alliston for most of the village even though Alliston is the municipal centre.
The South Simcoe Railway still runs heritage steam trains out of the Tottenham station down the line towards Beeton. It is the sort of village where the railway and the mill pond are the two things everyone can point to, and both sit within a few minutes' walk of Queen Street.
The Tottenham Conservation Area and its mill pond are the centre of village life in summer. Swimming, fishing and long afternoons on the water, which is a pleasant way to accumulate the reflected UV that shows up on the cheekbones twenty years later.

What Tottenham gets from the drive

The Tottenham Conservation Area is where the village spends its summers, and its mill pond is the reason. Water reflects UV back at you from below, which is why a day at the pond does considerably more to your face than a day in the garden.
